This is our second build of a Slumber Party Massacre Guitar replica. We have certain budgetary constraints over the movie version but our first version looked pretty good.This one shaped up to be much nicer and we put forth some extra effort beyond initial request in getting closer to a playable version. This iteration has real electric guitar pickups, a Floyd Rose tremolo system, volume and tone controls along with a truss rod in the neck. We learned a few thing in this custom guitar build. We should have used a thicker than standard neck along with solid hardwood. The Floyd Rose has a lot of spring tension along with the serious weight of this large auger bit coming out of the neck really needs a lot of support. We have been told the fretboard has come loose which may attribute to neck movement, maybe the glue job went bad. In retrospect we routed the top of the neck for the truss rod which is putting pressure on the fret board. Next time we will do a bottom relief. We need to allow more time for the two tone paint job than we planned. Other than that its a nice looking prop that should at least make some noise.
